Purpose

The material aims to summarise understanding of past ocean conditions through the systematic study of marine microfossils. By analyzing the chemistry and distribution of these tiny organisms, we reconstruct sea surface temperatures, ocean circulation patterns, and atmospheric CO₂ levels stretching back through geological time.
